Eggless Vanilla Sponge Cake in Pressure Cooker

Eggless Vanilla Sponge Cake is a simple cake, which I have baked in the pressure cooker, and its come out very nicely.

Recently, I have developed lot of interest in baking and desserts, but since I dont have an oven here, I try making in the pressure cooker and steamers. This cake too is based on my learning process. I baked this cake earlier and it came out well, so I decided to click pics and bake, and Thank God, again its come out so well. It gives a good boost and confidence, if our try gets success:).
{Though a cake made in an oven is the best, this method is also making me bake a good cake}.

Maida 1 cup
Baking Powder 1/2 tsp
Baking soda 1/4th tsp
Powdered Sugar 1/4th cup
Salt a pinch
Butter 1/4th cup {at room temperature}
Condensed Milk 1/2 cup
Milk 1/2 cup
Vanilla Essence 2 tsp

For Icing:
Nutella as per needed
Powdered Sugar as per needed

For pressure cooker baking:
Salt, to cover the bottom.

Step 1:                                               
Take a bowl, add powdered sugar and butter and beat well with a hand whisk. 
Once beaten, add condensed milk and whisk well.                   

Step 2:
Take another bowl, Keep a sieve upon the bowl.  
Add maida, baking powder, baking soda and salt and the sieve well into the bowl, until everything is well mixed.

Step 3:
Now add this maida mixture{step 2} to the butter mixture{step 1} little by little by fold and cut method, including milk too in between little by little, until everything is mixed and a perfect cake batter consistency is reached. 

Now add Vanilla essence and give a good whisk. Our cake batter is ready. 

Step 5:
Grease a cake pan and transfer the cake batter into the greased pan.

Lets Bake the Cake...
Step 6: 
Take the pressure cooker. Add salt on the bottom of the cooker{I call it salt bed}, this is to prevent direct heat to the cake pan. 

Pre-heat the pressure cooker covered for 5 minutes on high flame.
Carefully open the cooker and Place the cake pan into the pressure cooker carefully over the salt bed. The pan should not touch the sides of the cooker.

Close the lid and bake on high flame for 5 minutes, and reduce the flame to low and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. It took 30 minutes for my cake to get baked. 

Insert a skewer and if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. 
Take it out of the cooker, and allow to cool for 5 minutes. 
Now take a plate and invert the pan to the plate by tapping it slowly.

Straighten the cake downside to upside.

For Icing:
Keep the cake on a plate, add nutella and spread it all over.

Take icing sugar in a sieve, and dust it onto to the cake.

Important Note on Pressure Cooker Baking:
Before baking the cake using a pressure cooker, please follow the following steps..
Remove the whistle{vent weight}, gasket {rubber ring}. 
Regular use of pressure cooker for baking is not good, as the metal of the pressure cooker may get damaged.

  12. Hi Jeena. .could u please tell how many litres cooker is recommended for baking cake? & is it ok to use steel pressure cooker? & when preheating thé cooker do we have to cover thé cooker ? I've never made cake in a cooker & wanted to clear few things.
